Makes me wonder if everyone would be as accepting if you had a taxidermied child over your shoulders.

But the child died of natural causes, so that's ok, right?

I think there are a few things wrong with that statement. First, it's important that the things we're taxiderming aren't of our own species. Second, they weren't sentient beings. Lastly, why pick a child to make a point regarding this picture? A dead human child over someones shoulders is completely different than a wolf and that's obvious from the points I made above and just general common sense. It's like you took the most extreme example you could think of regardless of how little similarity they actually share
im not sure if you were KIDDING or if you were serious but i kind of hope youre joking, i mightve misinterpreted your tone

That would be extremely awkward, in my opinion.

I find weird comments on pictures with soft mounts everywhere I go, and this has got to be one of the weirdest xD

It breaks my heart to see this.. It really does. If this beautiful  wolf died for a reason like old age thats fine, I support that. However, if you or someone murdered that innocent creature then I am completely against this.

People just don't 'murder' wolves just to stuff them. There are many reasons as to why wolves as well as other predators need to be highly regulated in annual culling efforts. In some places like Alaska and Canada, high populations of wolves are so densely populated it causes problems for the eco system itself. Sarcoptic mange can spread through the species and kill them off in VERY large numbers, the mange can spread through different species like Arctic foxes, red foxes, Raccoons, domestic dogs/cats as well as humans. As well as declining the deer and other animal population drastically, harming pets and small children. I love wolves myself but I 100% understand the importance of legal, regulated culling of predators ( only a certain amount of wolves are allowed to be hunted by licensed hunters and the body doesnt go to waste! :0 and instead of throwing a wolf body away to rot. Taxidermists get donated animals that would otherwise been thrown away, and preserve their pelt, articulate skeletons for museums and nature conservations for others around the world to see and appreciate them. Apologies for the ever so long paragraph!! ;w; I wasn't 100% sure if you were aware about the mange problem in wolves atm!

(hhhhh oh my god.. I just wrote a full paragraph and accidentally clicked on a different page. IT DIDN'T SAAAAAAAAVE! I guess I'll have to write this all out again.)

Alright, well. I'm aware that people don't just 'murder' wolves to stuff them, believe me, I'm fully aware. I know it's stupid but I treat all animals as equals. Imagine you went to a museum and it was full of stuffed human bodies.. Or, if you had a look on deviant or for some cute animal pictures and you had lots of search results that consisted of stuffed human bodies. Thats how it is in my eyes. I'm very close with animals and I have been all my life. I've been laughed at and mocked for my beliefs but it's genuinely how I feel. I can't stand to see an animal in pain.. I'm not even joking I saw a bee at the side of the road that was slowly passing away so I picked it up ran into the nearest field and sat it on a flower. I stayed with it for about 3 minutes and it flew away. I'm not trying to say you don't care about them, I can't stress enough how much I'm really not trying to imply anything along the lines of that. I understand mange is a problem.. I can agree with you on that. I just don't agree that they should be shot.. ideally they should be lead into a big room with plenty of food and it should be fairly dark.. within seconds they should all be euthanized humanly. No animal should ever have to suffer slowly and painfully. (fuck I just looked up a picture of humane slaughterhouses and I'm crying! Congratulations me!) Also the high populations of wolves/any other animal is a big problem again.. I would personally introduce more predators of that hunt the species that is populating.  For example, we could reintroduce wolves in to Britain, that would solve the deer crisis we're having at the moment.. If we reintroduced wolves we would have a balanced amount of wolves and deer. <__< WOW.. Sorry for the super long paragraph. ;^; I'm not trying to offend you at all and if I did please tell me, I don't want you to think I'm a horrible person. >_<

Oh no worries hun!! I totally agree with you with the reintroduction of wolves back into The UK here!! I think they're actually considering it along with Eurasian lynx! Not sure what the impact is going to be like with our native animals and birds but yeah those deers need to calm down on the breeding LOL. The euthanizia idea actually sounds a lot more humane than some methods trappers and hunters use :0 have you ever heard of bodyworlds? I dunno if you'd be interested but there's museums all over the world that use donated human bodies and plastinate them in such incredible poses and gestures, even creating scenes that the owner of the body requested. Technically theyre not stuffed but I think you get the idea x'D dude you're not a horrible person at all!it's really interesting reading about other people's views about this subject!<3

Animals like foxes are usually hunted because they are viewed as pests in some areas. Wolves are usually used after they've been found dead. Like if they died of old age, or became roadkill.

I think you should make clear that the animal was not killed purposedly by you or any other person, I mean, it was found dead or was an accident killed on the road or something. If not it's compltely normal that people don't like this kind of taxidermy.

I doubt it very much. Most taxidermy on deviantart is buying things over the internet, and many have used animals that have dies of natural causes, or have been shot for a cull ^^

You don't have to! Lots of wolves are killed for other reasons besides sport, like, some become big problems around farms by killing livestock, and some are taken for population control. The whole point of loving these animals is loving them any way they come, life, and death.

They wouldn't be killing livestock if we stopped taking away their homes. :I And population control? That's hypocritical. We're more populated than animals are. There's over a million of us, are there over a million of them? I hardly doubt that. "Population control" is like playing GOD. I don't even believe in god but they're like-- controlling who lives and who dies. It's disgusting.

Wolves are literally so over populated they are destroying their own homes. They are a danger to endangered species around them when people don't control the populations.

Excuse me? Lmfao. Wolves are not "Over populated", we are. There's more of us than there of them. Get your facts right. At a point in time, they were almost going extinct. They were endangered. Wolves are not dangerous, humans are. And actually, we're destroying their homes. We're destroying all the animals homes by building homes in their territories. Would you want someone building a house right over yours? I'm sure you wouldn't. Don't sit here and make them like it's their fault when it isn't. We're not SUPPOSE to control populations, fuck, we can't even control our own population.
